Grey rubbRe™ was developed in response to the marine industry. While at a trade show there was a tremendous response to the material. However, our base ingredient is black car tires; which meant that all of our colors were on the darker end of the spectrum which was not ideal for a material that would be exposed to the sun all day. Without a bleaching process we will never achieve white; but we think that the light grey rubbRe™ provides an excellent fit!
Vulcana® Grey rubbRe™ sheet rubber material is made from recycled tires. Grey rubbRe™ is available +/- .035" thick and weighs approximately 2.90 pounds per linear yard and measures 56" wide.
We recommend using a walking foot or an industrial strength sewing machine when sewing the rubbRe™ material as well as using a stronger industrial type thread.
